ABOUT SASP
a sport like no other
SASP is designed to instill in young people a set of personal values and character traits for fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and personal commitment. As the sport itself, these qualities will stay with them throughout their lifetimes, helping each young athlete reach his or her full potential.
- Youth may participate in Action Shooting using .22 rifles, .22 handguns, revolver, pistol caliber carbines (PCC), and/or centerfire handguns.
- Action Shooting targets are steel circle or rectangular plates.
- 10 Meter Air Rifle, 10 Meter Air Pistol and Sport Pistol

Much like football, baseball, basketball, and track, we help build school teams and conferences across the country and have been doing so since 2012 under the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF).
FAQs
Rookie Division – Grades 5 and below
Junior Division – 6th – 8th Grade
Senior Division – 9th – 12th Grade
Collegiate Division – age limit is the end of the season of an athlete’s 26th birthday
You need a head coach and at least one athlete, or a minimum of four athletes to form a competitive squad, plus a place where the athletes can practice their skills. Athletes can compete in matches that are held locally, by state, regionally, and nationally, as well as some virtual matches.
The minimum squad size is one (1) athlete. A full competitive squad size is four (4) athletes. There is no upper limit to the number of members on a team and no limit to the number of squads a team may field.

The SSSF offers a $7,000,000 umbrella liability policy for its officially registered athletes at only $30 each per year for student athletes and $40 each for coaches.
Scholarships
Our annual Scholarship Program offers college scholarships to graduating seniors, with the help of our generous sponsors and donors. Since 2013, we have awarded over $1,111,500 in scholarship funds, benefiting over 1,100 student athletes!

SSSF has a Basic Action Shooting Coach Training Program. In addition to that, SASP Staff are members of the NRA National Coach Development Staff and also teach NRA level 1 Coach Classes.
