ABOUT SASP

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is the national governing body for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) with the mission of youth development through team-based shooting sports.

a sport like no other

SASP is designed to instill in young people a set of personal values and character traits for fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and personal commitment. As the sport itself, these qualities will stay with them throughout their lifetimes, helping each young athlete reach his or her full potential.

  • Youth may participate in Action Shooting using .22 rifles, .22 handguns, revolver, pistol caliber carbines (PCC), and/or centerfire handguns.
  • Action Shooting targets are steel circle or rectangular plates.
  • 10 Meter Air Rifle, 10 Meter Air Pistol and Sport Pistol

Quick Start Guide

Get started in the SASP as an athlete or adult volunteer with this Quick Start Guide for new and prospective members.

The SASP is a National Youth Shooting Program focused on “Team!” There is no room for the win-at-all-costs attitude like exists in many other your sports.

Much like football, baseball, basketball, and track, we help build school teams and conferences across the country and have been doing so since 2012 under the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF).
