What areas of academics is your school best known for?  The majority of our athletes are pursuing the sciences.  We have many athletes working towards engineering, forensics, and medical degrees.

We are very active in our community.  We share our skills and equipment to teach basic firearm safety and marksmanship with youth and adults at the NSSF First Shots program several times per year.


We attend UofA sporting events as a team.  “Bear Down Arizona”
We organize and host ‘Stop the bleed’ classes for the student body.
We volunteer with the Boy Scouts to teach shooting sports merit badges.

What areas of academics is your school best known for? nursing, business administration and management, marketing, human resources and occupational therapy

Details: Concordia University Wisconsin is a private Lutheran university on beautiful Lake Michigan just north of Milwaukee. We are one of the safest campuses in Wisconsin and have the largest MBA program in the state. Our shooting program is fully funded and includes shotgun as well as pistol/rifle.  We have expanded our shotgun program and are award winning on the action side, including winning the Tammy L. Mowry Rifle Cup at College Nationals in 2022.

Bowling Green, OH

General: Bowling Green State University is located in Bowling Green, Ohio (20 min South of Toledo). Our areas of academic focus include: Liberal Arts and Sciences, Liberal Studies, Sport and Fitness Administration, Nursing, Management, Criminal Justice, and Design & Visual Communications. BGSU is ranked the #1 most Veteran-friendly University in the Midwest and #2 in the Nation. Our full-time enrollment is approximately 6,000 students.   

Scholarship opportunities: No. We do have 2, 3, and 4-year scholarships available through BGSU ROTC if interested and meet contracting requirements.

Details: BGSU Army ROTC serves as the faculty advisor for the Collegiate Action Shooting Team. ROTC enrollment is NOT a requirement to compete on the team. In addition to SASP, we compete in SCSA, USPSA, IDPA, and Falling Steel competitions. We practice twice per week either at the University (dry practice) or at our Home Range of UCOA – Findlay (live fire). The program covers transportation, lodging, and match/range fees for competitors.

What’s to love about your school/team? Club has existed since at least as far back as the 1950’s. One of few collegiate clubs that has rifle, pistol and shotgun all within one student run club. Members can participate as either competitive or recreational shooters. All necessary equipment is provided.

We shoot at the Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club (www.rrpc2.org), which is about 5 miles from the University.

What’s to love about your school/team? Our mission is academic, athletic, and overall individual growth and success. Each team member contributes to the success of their teammates and the team. The two coaches and support our student-athletes in the pursuit of their goals. We have 25-lanes dedicated range with MegaLink electronic targets that we share with the OSU rifle team.

The Circle of Care of the team is comprised of dedicated individuals who work with our team in all aspects of collegiate athletic and academic life, to ensure successful completion of the college career, and successful integration after college. It includes athletic trainer, strength coach, academic success counselor, psychologist, compliance contact, nutritionist, and equipment support.
