“I became involved with shooting sports at a young age and have enjoyed competing, coaching, running matches, and working with shooters at every level of the game. My experiences provided life skills and experiences that I hope to share with others. I’m enthusiastic about educating as many people as I can in order to give back to this wonderful sport which I love. Shooting sports is very important in the Hall family – My wife Sarah works for MidwayUSA Foundation (a non-profit that provides grants to youth shooting teams) and was a member of the University of Kentucky Rifle Team. My brother Jonathan is a 2012 Olympian in air rifle and member of the Jacksonville State University Rifle Team. My brother Joseph was a member of the Army Marksmanship Unit and Jacksonville State University Rifle Team and currently competes with the Army National Guard High Power Team.”

“I am excited to help pass on and instill the values I was taught being an athlete in both of the SSSF’s programs. I received a lot from my participation in the shooting sports and am happy I’m getting the chance to give back.”
John has a long history with the SSSF, first starting as an athlete in our Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and then shooting pistol when the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) began in 2012. John was an accomplished clay shooter, shooting Trap, Sporting Clays, and his favorite Skeet in SCTP through High School shooting his Browning Citori. John was a member of an SPP National Championship Centerfire Pistol squad shooting with Ozaukee Scholastic Shooting Sports in Wisconsin, using his GLOCK 34. John went on to give back to the program and coached with his high school team while shooting with them in college. John later got the opportunity to be hired by Concordia University of Wisconsin (CUW) to start and coach their SCTP and SASP teams. John coached the CUW team to two SASP Rifle National Championships.

“I became involved as a parent volunteer when my two younger children started shooting in the SASP and SCTP programs.”
“I became involved as a parent volunteer when my two younger children started shooting in the SASP and SCTP programs. In 2016, I joined the SASP staff as their administrative assistant. Being a part of SASP has been a rewarding experience. Not only did I see my own children’s confidence and skill levels grow, but others’ children as well. It is so much fun to see these kids year after year, and watch them hone their skills and grow into young adults. Their excitement at competitions is infectious!”
“I was introduced to the program in 2012 by Scott Moore and Matt Hawes (Texas A&M athlete) when they performed a demo at a NRA Whittington Center event.”
“I was introduced to the program in 2012 by Scott Moore and Matt Hawes (Texas A&M athlete) when they performed a demo at a NRA Whittington Center event. I instantly fell in love with the program because of its emphasis of safety, discipline and competition. As a lifelong competitive shooter I appreciated that this was a program that was combining the fun of shooting with the life lessons that are learned in a competitive sport.”
