National and Regional Competitions Kickoff Friday in Ohio

Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) teams from across the country will be in action this weekend at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, OH competing for national and regional titles.

The 2017 SCTP College National Championships starts Friday with 239 athletes from 16 states pre-registered. College athletes will compete in trap, skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand and international bunker trap over three days. Over 700 event entries are currently registered with Martin Methodist College and others back to defend their 2016 titles.

The 2017 SASP Ohio Regional event will feature over 100 athletes from six states competing for titles in rimfire pistol, centerfire pistol, rimfire rifle (iron sights), rimfire rifle (optics) and the new 1911 division.

The Cardinal Center will be decked out in Halloween decor with student-athletes participating in costume contests on Saturday. Everyone will be sure to have a “spooktacular” time!
