SASP RARE RUGER AUCTION: Ruger® Gunsite Scout Rifle .308

The SASP’s Founding Partner Sponsor, Ruger has been dedicated in their support of our program for over five years and has graciously included the SASP as a beneficiary of Ruger Auctions. Each week from September through December will feature a new Ruger Auction, with all proceeds being donated in benefit of the SASP!

Up for auction this week is a .308 Winchester caliber Ruger® Gunsite Scout Rifle. Ruger’s records reflect this rifle was roll marked December 8, 2010. The rifle was never sold and has never been fired beyond normal factory test firing. The Gunsite Scout Rifle was first introduced as “NEW” in the 2011 Ruger Firearms catalog. The rifle has a matte black finish and features a 16.5-inch free-floating, cold hammer-forged alloy steel barrel with integral scope mounts (machined directly on the solid-steel receiver) and a flash suppressor. Other features include: a forward-mounted Picatinny rail for “both eyes open” sighting and rapid target acquisition; a built-in, accurate sighting system with adjustable ghost ring rear aperture sight and a non-glare, protected blade front sight. The stock is made of laminated wood that free floats the barrel, and the soft-rubber buttpad with buttpad spacers allows the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters or varying levels of outerwear (three, 1/2″spacers included). The stock also features wrap-around cut checkering on the forearm and pistol grip as well as the Gunsite logo on the bottom of the pistol grip. Additionally, this rifle has a non-rotating, Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor; three-position safety; stainless steel bolt; and sling swivels.

This Ruger auction raised over $1,800 for youth shooting sports!
