Scholastic Action Shooting Program Announces Director of Development, John Leach
The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is excited to announce the hiring of Jonathan Leach as the new Director of Development for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). John has a long history with the SSSF, first starting as an athlete in our Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and then shooting pistol when the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) began in 2012. John was an accomplished clay shooter, shooting Trap, Sporting Clays, and his favorite Skeet in SCTP through High School shooting his Browning Citori. John was a member of an SPP National Championship Centerfire Pistol squad shooting with Ozaukee Scholastic Shooting Sports in Wisconsin, using his GLOCK 34. John went on to give back to the program and coached with his high school team while shooting with them in college. John later got the opportunity to be hired by Concordia University of Wisconsin (CUW) to start and coach their SCTP and SASP teams. John coached the CUW team to two SASP Rifle National Championships.
John stated “I am excited to start my new position, and help pass on and instill the values I was taught being an athlete in both of the SSSF’s programs. I received a lot from my participation in the shooting sports and am happy I’m getting the chance to give back.” “We are happy to see another one of our former athletes join our staff. Many working for and on behalf of SSSF got to see John grow up in our programs. With his experience with our programs, we expect him to thrive in his position with SASP.” Stated Ed Fitzgerald SSSF Board Chair. Fitzgerald further stated “As a youth development program, it is our collective vision to one day see our entire board made up of successful alumni of our programs.”
