Ohio Steel Stingers Honored by State Representatives
Members of Ohio’s House of Representatives recently presented a resolution honoring the Ohio Steel Stingers, a Butler County 4-H SASP team, for winning first place in four divisions of the 2016 SASP National Championships.
The Journal-News featured a story on State Reps. Candice Keller, R-Middletown, Wes Retherford, R-Hamilton, and Margy Conditt, R-Liberty Twp., honoring the team, which won the Rookie, Intermediate/Entry, Intermediate/Advanced and Senior/Junior Varsity divisions of the Iron Rifle.
Keller said, “Their accomplishments as national champions demonstrate good sportsmanship, citizenry, and excellence in all they do.”
Condit also praised the team, saying, “These young men and women have clearly distinguished themselves not only through their athletic talent but also through their perseverance and sportsmanship.”
The 2016 National Championships took place on July 2016 at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio, where the Steel Stingers also placed third in the Rimfire Pistol in three divisions: Intermediate/Entry, Intermediate/Advanced and Senior/Junior Varsity.
