REGISTRATION: Log into your team in SHOT system, select Competitions bottom left. Click on the “Click to View Shoots” tab. Then click on Regional Shoots tab. Then select the shoot you want to participate to the right. Then from there click on an open slot name your squad and enter the athletes. (If athletes do not appear in the drop-down menu, check to be sure you have their SASP Classification entered in the team SHOT registration. You may also pay online by clicking on the VOUCHER tab next to the Squad tab.
How did you spend your spring break? Well 112 college athletes spent theirs competing for SASP National Titles in Alabama. On March 10 & 11 the Scholastic Action Shooting Program held our College National Championships at the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, AL. We thank GLOCK for sponsoring our use of the Marksmanship Park and CMP for their great southern hospitality. This year was the largest championship in SASP’s history, with 16 teams, 112 athletes and 201 entries. That is a 100% increase in teams, 44% increase in athletes and 121% increase in entries over the 2017 championships.
Congratulations to all the teams that participated with many competing in their very first national championships. This year the results were very close with many places being decided by just a few seconds and some by less than a second.
In the Rimfire Discipline the University of Vermont took first, followed by Michigan State University in second and Texas A&M finishing third. In Centerfire Texas A&M repeated as National Champions and also took second, with West Point coming in third. In Optic Rifle the University of Vermont took first and third with Florida State University finishing second. In Iron Rifle University of Arizona won the championship by less than 5 seconds at their first nationals with Florida State University taking second and Clemson University taking third. In the 1911 discipline Michigan State University won the national championship, with Florida State taking second and Miami University of Ohio taking third in their first trip to the national championship.
In the Open Division, Rimfire Bethel University won the National Championship by beating second place Clemson University by just 1.66 seconds, with Bob Jones University finishing third. In Centerfire Lake Country Action Shooters and Bob Jones University shared the title with Texas A&M taking second and the University of Florida taking third. In Optic rifle Concordia University Wisconsin competing in their first SASP took the championship beating second place University of Wisconsin Platteville by just .98 of a second, and Lake Country Action Shooters came in third. Iron Rifle the University of Wisconsin Platteville took the title beating their in-state rival Concordia University of Wisconsin who took second, with Bethel University taking third. In 1911 Lake Country Action Shooters took first and Concordia University of Wisconsin took second.

Ruger Firearms has generously donated an early model 10/22® Carbine rifle to benefit the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). The rifle is being auctioned on Gunbroker.com now through March 28, 12:30PM eastern time.
This week’s auction item is an early model 10/22® Carbine rifle. The serial number is 111-44026. The rifle was manufactured May 3, 1972. The 10/22® Carbine rifle first appeared in the 1965 Ruger® firearms price sheets. This rifle had originally been sold to a distributor and returned to the factory. There are no notes as to why it was returned. This 10/22® Carbine Rifle has an uncheckered American walnut stock with aluminum buttplate. “MODEL 10/22 CARBINE – .22 L.R. CALIBER” is stamped on the left side of the receiver along with the Ruger eagle logo. The Sturm, Ruger address is stamped on the top of the barrel, and there is no manual warning on this rifle. Other features include: a blued 18-1/2 inch barrel; folding-leaf rear sight (adjustable for elevation); and gold bead front sight. Lyman was the original sights supplier and marked the rear sight blade with a triangular pointer below the curved sighting notch. The frame is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Also included in this auction are an appropriate instruction manual and 10-round rotary magazine. It will be shipped in the 44 Carbine rifle box it had been stored in. The stainless P95 Manual Safety model pistol was first introduced as “NEW” in the 2001 Ruger® Firearms Catalog. The serial number of this pistol is 314-42695 and the testfire date is February 2, 2001. The pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. The pistol’s slide is made of Terhune Anticorro stainless steel and features nearly indestructible resin grip panels and a custom compounded polymer frame. This manual safety model pistol incorporates a manual ambidextrous lever that, when engaged, prevents firing unless the lever is in the “fire” position. The KP95 pistol will be shipped in a gray plastic pistol case along with one 10-shot magazine and appropriate instruction manual. An original 2001 Ruger firearms catalog is also included with this auction. This week’s auction is a Ruger® Standard Model Pistol. The serial number is 17-76914 and the testfire date is February 11, 1982. This pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. Manufacture of the Standard Model pistols began in 1949 and were in production until the Mark II series was introduced in 1982. That makes this one of the last Standard Models produced. This pistol features a tapered 4-3/4” barrel; a fixed, wide-blade Patridge-type front sight; and a windage-adjustable, square notch, dovetail-mounted rear sight. The grip panels are made of butaprene-type hard rubber with sharp diamond checkering and a silver-colored Ruger eagle medallion inlaid in the right grip panel. The trigger is grooved and has a 3/8 inch wide curved finger surface. The Standard Model Pistol will be shipped in its original yellow and black-hinged cardboard box along with a 9-shot magazine, original instruction manual, purchaser record card, and marketing literature. You are bidding on a .44 Carbine rifle. The serial number is 102-64287. The rifle was manufactured January 28, 1981. There is some bluing worn off of the magazine release. We are looking for half day commitments to serve the roles of Safety Officers (SO) and scorekeepers. Working a match is a great way to learn more about the Scholastic Action Shooting Program! Also, for each half day worked you will be eligible for a random drawing for some great prizes!
The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF), the National Governing Body of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP), is once again offering a scholarship program to reward deserving SCTP/SASP graduating seniors with needed college assistance. The main objective is to award as many scholarships as possible to qualifying SCTP / SASP graduating seniors.
Since 2013 SSSF has awarded over $300,000 in scholarship funds benefiting over 300 student athletes from 39 different states in the Scholastic Clay Target and Scholastic Action Shooting programs.
SSSF is establishing minimal guidelines for the selection procedure, thus allowing the final selection to be as simple as possible.
General Procedures: Each applicant must be a graduating senior within the year of the awarded scholarship and must be registered for college before the scholarship is awarded in that same year.
Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average through the most recent grading period ending on or before April 1, 2018.
Each prospective recipient must be registered as a full-time college student before the scholarship is awarded and must provide the name of the post-secondary college or community/ junior college to receive the scholarship proceeds. Each scholarship check will be mailed to the appropriate college in the student’s name by October 1, 2018. The scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, fees, etc. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
Applicants may not be in receipt of any “full” scholarship funds in order to qualify (i.e., athletics, military academy, academic, etc.).
Applicants must have participated during 2017-2018 in one of their SCTP / SASP State Championships, National Championships, or regional events in Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, or Olympic Bunker; Olympic Skeet Championships, Pistol or Rifle.

The banquet will be held at the Ozaukee Pavilion at the Ozaukee County Fair Grounds in Cedarburg, WI. Doors open at 5 p.m. We’ll have raffles, silent auction, and a live auction with prizes including guns, trips and much more!
Ruger® first introduced the blued manual safety model, .45 ACP, P90™ pistol in 1998. The serial number of this P90™ is 661-84178 and the testfire date is January 13, 1999. This pistol has never been fired beyond normal testing during manufacture. The manual safety model P90™ is made of hard-coated A356T6 aircraft quality aluminum alloy, chrome-molybdenum steel, and 6123 Xenoy resin grip panels. It features manual ambidextrous safety levers; a 4-1/2 inch barrel and high-visibility white-dot inserts on both the front and rear sights. The square notch rear sight is drift-adjustable for windage. Other features include an oversized trigger guard and full-time ambidextrous magazine latch. The P90™ Pistol will be shipped in a gray plastic lockable case along with two 7-shot magazines, magazine loading tool, original instruction manual and original marketing materials.
